Merch by Javi is for the 18-year-old kid (Me) just wanting to make clothes. Not knowing anything at all, I bought a printer and some transfer paper from some guy I saw on Youtube because that's how I thought all shirts were made from the first video I ever saw. I chose graphic design as my major in college because I looked up how to make a shirt and the first thing was to make a graphic design. Later down the line, I took on 3 jobs as a screen printer just to learn how to make a shirt. I then finally in October 2021 started a t-shirt printing business to learn everything about making a shirt, and also how to make a brand.

 

When I was 18, I wondered why was it so hard to make a shirt. I now know that is more difficult than I imagined on that bedroom floor with a printer and a home iron, but it  always makes it worth seeing an idea of yours on a t-shirt. 

  

Looking back now, I realize all my big life decisions were directed to have a clothing brand, because of a hunch when I was 18 with the simple thought of "I like shirts".

 

Merch by Javi is not just a clothing brand, it is an art project, a collection of time stamps of where I am at in life, and hopefully a community for people wanting to learn the same as me. 

 

It is experimenting with design, clothing, printing, consciousness, and what is possible. It is Merch for things I believe deserve Merch, and it is made by Javier De La Cruz.
